Inner-City Mission Orlando
First Christian Church of Winter Park packages food and clothes and goes to downtown Orlando every Sunday at 3:30PM. Iinner-city mission seeks to reach the urban areas of Orlando with the Gospel of Christ. Why have an inner-city mission in Orlando? Every night there are between four and six thousand homeless people in the metropolitan area. These people are involved in a lifestyle that seeks to drag them away from God.
Many of the people on the streets fight addiction or have mental trouble. They need Jesus to forgive them of their sins. This mission connects the homeless with disciples of Jesus who can encourage them, and help the homeless fulfill God's role for their lives. This mission is a restoration and education-centered organization. It seeks to restore the homeless to society by providing guidance in Christian lifestyle. It also seeks to educate interested parties in the spiritual and physical needs of the urban homeless.
